Policing Color: Black, Brown & Blue
The 2017 Provost Forum Policing Color: Black, Brown & Blue, to be held March 3 in Penn Pavilion, will bring together diverse participants, activists, scholars, and police officers to help us better understand the problem of tensions between communities of color and law enforcement. The forum aims to provide insights on the nature of police and civilian interactions; help us appreciate the impact on marginalized communities that are experiencing racial violence through the media; offer a process for achieving justice between sometimes oppositional communities; and point toward potential solutions. The discussion is open to students, faculty, staff and the Duke and Durham community.
