As an Academic Dean, I support students who live or did live in Pegram House, first-year students in Jarvis, and seniors in Brown. I am the administrative liaison for Asian & Middle Eastern Studies, Medieval & Renaissance Studies, Music, and the Documentary Studies certificate program. I also serve as the University Student Ombudsman.
I have worked at Duke University since 2001 in various capacities. I served as a psychologist at Duke’s Counseling and Psychological Services, a support liaison for the Trinity College’s Early Alert System, and Clinical Director of the Academic Resource Center. Additionally, I am Duke’s Student Ombudsman and the instructor for Forensic Psychology in Psychology and Neuroscience.
I received my bachelors of science and masters of science degrees in psychology from Florida A&M University. I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University and am currently licensed in the state of North Carolina. I also have a private practice in Raleigh, NC where I specialize in forensic psychology, post traumatic stress disorder, psychological assessment, eating disorders, family and couples psychology, and general psychology for individuals ages 13 and up.
I am the proud father of five and love spending time with my wife, Kimberly, and our children. Additionally, I am an avid reader and a fervent lover of all music, especially Prince!
