As an academic dean, I support students who live or lived in Randolph House, and seniors in Brown. I am the administrative liaison for the following majors and certificates: African & African American Studies, Religious Studies, Women's Studies, the Markets & Management Certificate, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Certificate, the Jewish Studies Certificate, and the ROTC programs. I am also the dean and academic advisor for visiting international students, and serve as the advisor for students interested in graduate business school.
I grew up in Evanston, Illinois. After graduating from high school, I joined the U.S. Army and served three years. I then attended Oakwood University where I received a B.A. degree in Religion. I taught English for three years in Japan. I received my master’s degree in Educational Administration from Fayetteville State University and a doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Akron where I worked for eleven years. I have lived in Durham for many years with my wife. We have two sons. I am an ordained minister and on weekends I serve as a volunteer chaplain at Duke Hospital.
