As an Academic Dean, I support students who live or did live in the Bell Tower House, and seniors in Brown. I am the administrative liaison for German; International Comparative Studies; Slavic & Eurasian Studies; Education; and the Health, Wellness & Physical Education program. I am a member of the College Courses Committee, and oversee Trinity's Signature Course program, the University Course, and House Courses. I am a member of the Online Assessment Committee, and I chair the Transfer Course Coding Committee.
I received a Master of Arts Degree in History from the University of London and completed my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Victoria. Prior to joining Duke, I taught undergraduate and graduate students, and mentored new teachers, in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. For the last three years, I have been a Visiting Assistant Professor at Duke University, teaching Educational Policy related courses in both the Sanford School of Public Policy and the Program in Education. My research focuses on examining the influence of historical and philosophical shifts within the American narrative on the evolution of school choice in American Education. Prior to teaching at the university-level, I taught, coached and mentored students in both public and private secondary schools in Canada, England and the United States.
