Tubes

Tubes is an RSS and XML aggregator.  Using Tubes you can publish content from any RSS or XML feed to your site.  An admin can designate a feed as articles or events.  An admin can also determine whether a feed should come in published or unpublished.

Only admins are able to edit this section.  An editor can select already existing tags associated with news and events on a page but can not add or edit feeds.

Adding Feeds

Step 1: Open Tubes by clicking the "Tubes" icon in the upper nav tool bar.

Step 2: Click the "Add a new feed" button underneath Manage Feeds.

Step 3: Enter the url of an XML or RSS feed.  Give the feed a title (this is how it will be listed in the Tubes admin interface), and enter a description of the feed if desired.  Select the Feed Type: Articles are news items, blog entries, or other text-based entries; Events have specific dates associated with them and are usually generated by a calendar application. Select whether feed items will be Published or Unpublished by default.  Selecting Unpublish allows an admin to cherry-pick specific entries to manually publish to the site.

Step 4: Enter one or more Feed Tags.  You will use these tags to select a feed or feeds when adding a calendar or news slot to your site.

Step 5: Click Save.
