Link to a Word file, PDF or other file type

To create a link on your page to a PDF or Word file, you must first load the file into your site. To do this:

  1. Log in to your site
  2. Go to the page where you want to add a link to a file
  3. Click the “Edit” tab
  4. Scroll down to “File Attachment” to upload your file
  5. Click “Browse” to find the file on your computer and select it
  6. Once you see the name of the file beside the “Browse” button, click “Upload”
  7. The file now appears under “File Information”

You now two options.

  1. Preferred: You can link this file to text on your page so when a user clicks the text/link the file opens
  2. You can have the file simply appear at the bottom of your page

For linking the file to text on the page:

  1. Put your cursor on top of the file name under “File Information”, right-click and select “Copy Link Location.”
  2. Scroll up to the Body text field on this page and highlight the word(s) you want to serve as the link for the user
  3. Once the word(s) are highlighted, click the Link icon in your editor (It’s on the second row of icons)
  4. In the URL field, right-click and “paste” the link location you previously saved
  5. Click “OK”
  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Save”

If you simply wanted to have the link appear at the bottom of the page, after you uploaded the file, just click the box under the word “Display”, then click “Save” at the bottom of the page.
